presentations.

Introduction
to LonWorks Technology
As a gross over simplification, a LonWorks system can be considered
in two parts: 1) hardware and 2) software. This presentation
covers the physical hardware. That is all the parts and how you
ship information between controllers using a LonTalk network. It
goes further to discuss the real meaning of hardware interoperability
for LonWorks systems.

Introduction
to LonWorks LNS Networks and HMI Software
Part two of a LonWorks system is network management and
visualization software. Network management software tells which
controllers to exchange information and sets up a Lon Network Services (LNS)
Database for use by the Human Machine Interface (HMI). The HMI
software presents the information in a useable manner and handles other
functions that are outside the LonWorks standard.
